Documentary on Ethnicity in Bradford wins top TV Award

A Channel 4 documentary about ethnic diversity and integration in the West Yorkshire town of Bradford has won Best Reality and Factual award at the prestigious Rose D'Or awards.

'Make Bradford British', produced by Love Productions, was first broadcast in March 2012 and explored the level of integration between Bradford's Muslim and non-Muslim communities, putting different families together to see if they can find any common ground on what makes them British.

BBC documentary 'The Great Pretender' about Indian-origin singer and musician Freddie Mercury, won best arts programme at the awards, held in Brussels overnight.

More than 300 entries from over 30 countries were submitted this year.

It was the first time in more than 50 years the event was not held in Switzerland.
