John Abraham to invest £10m in British MotoGP team - Reports

After Twenty20 Cricket and Mixed-Martial Arts a Bollywood celeb has now begun the process of bringing another hugely popular global spectator sport to India.

Reports say 'Madras Cafe' star John Abraham, a self-confessed motorcycle "fanatic", is set to invest in a British Moto GP team.

The actor is said to be in "advanced talks" finalize the £10 million deal with the team which races in the Moto 2 class for bikes with a top engine capacity of 600 cc.

Whilst Abraham has been known to own numerous bikes - the actor is a brand ambassador for Yamaha India and owns a superfast Yamaha R1 - and race bikes regularly at tracks around the world his involvement with Moto GP will be that of a financial backer.

Reports say that the actor also hopes to bring races to India, a move that will doubtless thrill the millions of motorcycling enthusiasts in the country who include Abraham's Bollywood chum Shahid Kapoor and of course, Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
