#She'saKO!: Boxing champ Amir Khan becomes first-time dad

British-Pakistani boxing champ Amir Khan has become a father for the first time after wife Faryal Makhdoom gave birth to a baby girl this morning.

The fighter broke the news on his Twitter account today, saying he was "delighted".

He tweeted: “Faryal and I are delighted to announce the birth our first child Lamysa Khan everyone doing very well, thank you for all your wishes.”

Khan, 27, is a two-time light welterweight world champion.

In 2004 he became the youngest ever British boxing medallist at the Athens Games.

Earlier this month he beat Luis Collazo in Las Vegas and is said to be preparing for a multi-million dollar fight with American fighter Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

Khan and Faryal were married at an Islamic wedding in New York last May.

The nuptials were followed by a reception for some 4000 people in his home town of Bolton.
