'Ship of Theseus' wins Best Film at Transylvania Fest

Anand Gandhi’s critically acclaimed film “Ship of Theseus” has won the Best Film award at the 12th Transylvania International Film Festival in Romania.

The film, first screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2012, is fast becoming a favourite in the festival circuit, having been shown at the BFI London Film Fest as well as in Brisbane and Rotterdam.

Ship of Theseus, inspired by the ancient Greek Legend, is a complex work that explores human identity and values through the eyes of three wildly disparate characters.

The film was recently picked up by director-turned-producer Kiran Rao as the first release of her new studio venture which will bring the production to cinemas in association with UTV Motion Pictures in July.
