Bollywood fans are in for a very special treat as prolific playback singer Shreya Ghoshal digs into her enchanting - not to mention extensive - back catalogue for a series of concerts in the UK.
Ghoshal - aged just 28 and already a veteran of the industry - is considered by many to be Bollywood's finest contemporary playback singer, providing her dulcet voice to some of the biggest stars and films in recent memory.
Born in rural Rajasthan, the classically-trained Ghoshal first came to the attention of India as a young contestant on the popular TV talent show 'Sa Re Ga Ma'. She reappeared on the show as an adult in 2000 when her singing caught the attention of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who offered Ghoshal the opportunity to be the voice of 'Paro', the lead female character in Bhansali's lavish period epic 'Devdas'.
Ghoshal's turn giving voice to the beautiful Aishwarya Rai won her widespread acclaim, including a slew of national awards.
Since then she has established herself as one of the most versatile playback singers in the business with unparalleled range; from Dola Re Dola and Ishq Hua to Chickni Chameli and Ooh La La Ooh La La.
Ghoshal's UK tour will take in performances in Birmingham, Newport, Manchester and Leicester before culminating at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 06th.
