#Pictured: 'Wonderful', 'Loving' family found dead inside Bradford home days after Diwali

Yorkshire police have launched a murder investigation after four members of an Indian family were found dead inside a house in Clayton, near Bradford.

The bodies of Jatindra Lad, 49, his wife Daksha, 44, and the couple’s daughters Trisha, 19 and Nisha, 16, were found inside the home after concerned neighbours called police.

According to reports the bodies may have laid inside the house undiscovered for several days.

Police officials say that the investigation is now focused on the father who may have hanged himself after killing his family in an apparent murder-suicide.
West Yorkshire Police have said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths.

Post mortems will now be carried out to establish the cause of the deaths.

Neighbours and local residents have already begun leaving tribute to the family outside the home.

Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson, from West Yorkshire Police's Protective Services (Crime), said: 'This is clearly a significant incident and our investigation will be thorough as we piece together the events that have led to the deaths of a local family.

'The investigation is at an early stage, and while I do not want to speculate around the circumstances leading to the deaths, I am happy to confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.'

According to neighbours the family had even held a Diwali celebration at their home last week.

Tonight friends and neighbours paid tribute to the “lovely” and “well respected” couple and their two “wonderful” daughters, with many expressing their shock.

A friend of Trisha – a biochemistry undergraduate at the University of Leeds – told the Daily Mirror: "She was so lovely. She always had a bright smile on her face.

"I feel numb at the moment. I don't feel like it's happened. I still feel like I'm going to go to the bus stop one day and she'll be stood there smiling as ever.  It's heartbreaking to know she won't be.  It's just horrible."

Both the husband and wife worked for Bradford council.
